Frequently Asked Questions:
What makes a pinball machine collectible?
Many factors can influence the collectible value or value trend of a machine, age, popularity, movie connection influences or even a popular designer. Since less machines are newly produced and the market thrives as a growing niche, this often drives the value of many machines up. Popularity and complexity also play a factor.
What is good to excellent condition?
Playfield condition is very important. Does the playfield have any ruts or wear in it? Is it missing paint or have any broken plastic parts? Does the machine operate and play well mechanically? A machine in excellent condition will be fully operational, mechanically sound and will look as close as possible to what it did when it was new.
What exactly does a pinball technician check for during a repair diagnostic?
They will first check to make sure the machine is fully operational. Is there any problems with the electronics? Do all the switches and lamps work? Are there broken playfield components from ball strikes? All of these things are addressed first before the game is even broken down for cleaning and restoration.
Do you ship the games?
Yes, we can ship the games. We prefer that you come and look at and play the machines in person, but understand that is not always possible. We can make arrangements to pack and ship a machine using a number of different carriers. Please contact us for shipping estimates as they can vary by method and distance that they will be shipped.
